Freedom Lives Day

On December 27 Huckabee supporters will make history. We are rallying behind the future president by having a one day money drive. Hopefully we can bring up the amount of money Huckabee reports getting to show the media that Huckabee can run a sucessful campaign in the general election.

Huckabee 101 Day is an effort by Huckabee Watch to raise awareness of Mike Huckabee around the country. On January 1st ( 1/01) we will send emails to our friends, family, coworkers, ect to give them the Huckabee 101. Class is in session!

After coordinating with other Huckabee supporters, I have decided that the best way to keep the HUCKABOOM going is for me to cancel the fund raising part of Huckabee 101 Day and instead support Freedom Lives Day on December 27. I encourage you to write about this in the message boards and make videos about it for youtube. I will still coordinate Huckabee 101 Day on 1/01/07, but it will be strictly an email campaign to friends like the one the Huckabee campaign ran earlier.

Huckabee 101 Day - January 1st

Ok, so Ron Paul's big fund raising day is today (December 16) and he is raising money like crazy. Huckabee will win Iowa if we get out the vote. What he needs is money for after that. I propose that we all get behind January 1 as our BIGGEST FUND RAISING DAY EVER. I am going to put a bunch of stuff about it on my site. We could call it Huckabee 101 Day and we encourage on January 1 for people to get to know Huckabee and to donate to the campaign (possibly $101). We can make this happen if we really want to. Here is I have noticed from Ron Paul techniques. We NEED to get behind this day quickly and support it across the spectrum of Huckabee supporters. Video makers - we need videos promoting this like crazy. Graphic artists - we need banners that all the sites and blogs can use. Blogs - we need you writing about it. Others can post on MikeHuckabee.com telling about it. This could be a defining moment. Get excited. Get pumped. But most of all, get united in this effort and get to work.

Personal Touch

We need to be excited about these new polls that show Huckabee is surging because it says he is electable, but we should also remember that other candidates have massive get out the vote organizations. To see Huckabee elected, we need to as the grassroots supporters be more active in getting actual people to actual polls. For example, a certain candidate has extremely dedicated supporters, but much of their efforts in strictly online spamming which doesn't convert to votes. Personal efforts are effective. Our campaign can not come from the traditional playbook. Political science is already having to be rewritten in the books. We decide how that chapter will end. Let us show that being genuine and having ideas can actually win the presidency - even without disposable income. The personal touch wins elections starting in 2008!

From the beginning of the internet when it was invented by Al Gore, the internet has grown in power. The internet is going to be very important in the presidential elections to come for now on. Blogs such as this one keep track of events quickly and offer its commentary. News agencies release stories much quicker. Video sites have countless things to watch and you can see your favorite candidate in his or her best and worst moments. Social networking website (MySpace and Facebook) are being used to get out the message of the candidates. And finally, every serious candidate has a campaign website. I encourage you to use all of these to your advantage to help Huckabee win the election. Be creative!

Huckabee shakes up GOP race in South Carolina - CNN Story

CNN has a story about the Huckabee surge in South Carolina. He has went from fifth place to first in a month's time, narrowly beating out Guiliani 20% to 17%. This comes at a good time because Huckabee is about running a new ad in the state. CNN says that the Republican candidates Romney and Thompson have been fighting for the "I can win" title, but the base seems to be flocking to Huckabee because they see him in the debates and believe he is genuine and has new ideas. More details for Mobilize for Mike Day (December 6, 2007) are out. Here is what the official site says:

At midnight a ticker will be added to the frontpage of the website. As you send emails it will count them in real time. Only valid email addresses are counted. The goal isn't to send as many emails as we can, it is to send as many emails as we can to actual voters.

Suggestions for emails:

- Focus on friends, family members and co-workers that vote.

- Emails to Independents, Republicans, Democrats are equally important.

- Personalize the message. Don't just send emails to friends asking them to visit the website, please tell them why it is important that they do.

- Encourage them to forward emails to their friends. Our campaign has always been about friends telling friends about Governor Huckabee. This has been very effective. Let's keep that going.

- Ask them to become actively involved in the campaign.

If you have any tips for personal messages we encourage you to leave them here as a comment so others can see them. If you send 10 emails, 50 emails or 500 emails to friends let us know. Your comments may spur others to send emails. So please let us know when you participate.
