As we all know Sony has been going through a tough week with the failing 2.40 firmware update. So today we were shocked to find the "new and improved" firmware update 2.41. From the looks of it there should'nt be any problems, but we have been let down by Sony before. Hopefully all will run smooth or i'll have to turn my PS3 in a Foreman grill.

What the GRID?!

A few days ago me and my friend Robert R. visited our local Blockbuster and to our shock we found a great game we weren't even aware of, GRID. There's a lot to like about GRID, primarily in the audio-visual department. The interiors of the cars in particular are wonderfully lavish with detail, and as a result cabin view really is the only way to drive. The tracks are lined with heaving crowds of sweaty spectators, cheering as you blitz by. The damage-modelling is also astonishing, especially when enjoyed in the super slo-mo instant replays or a 'Flashback' sequenc. It is a brilliant looking game, and if your a fan of racing games or cars in general you should give GRID a shot.

Thats right fellow gamers, firmware version 2.40 is suppossed to hit your PS3 systems sometime this week. If you have'nt read much about this firmware version, allow me to shed some light on this dark subject. Firmware 2.40 was released about a week ago and ended up having a short lived life on PS3s all over the world. Bugs and constant system freezes occurred and it had to be pulled. Now with the re-release comming soon we can only hope for a much better experience with 2.40, until then.

SOCOM Confrontation retreats once again.

It's official, SOCOM Confrontation has been delayed until October 14. This is the only PS3 exclusive that I have been looking foward to and its been delayed once again. And for what? A desire to add a little more spit, a little more polish? While I appreciate the work ethic from Slant Six, I hate the fact that for now the only thing my PS3 does is collect dust and remind me that I have a huge credit card bill still left to be paid. So if your like me and are looking foward for a great third person shooter, you'll be waiting a little longer to get your hands on SOCOM Confrontation.

So our friends at Sony have dropped the ball again. Firmware 2.40 was not the only thing you were getting when uploading this "new and improved" firmware with XMB and the long awaited trophey system. With this upload many people received lock-ups and bugs. Well Sony, you did it once again. As if the multiple delays of Home wasn't bad enough you come and drop a bigger bomb. Stay tuned as we will be following this problem thoroughly.

On Sunday my friend Edward and I went to our local game store to pick up what we thought would be a great game. What we received was an overpriced Guitar Hero expansion. With minimal changes from the last Guitar Hero it seems like its just downloadable content on GH3. We feel like we were shortchanged, especially when we completed the game, to find that none of the songs we were looking foward to were included... How do you feel? Let us now in our forums.
