IAWN will be there. Here is a brief outline.

IAWN is listed in the Official Lambeth Guide.  Here are our 50 words.

The International Anglican Women's Network is the global voice of Anglican Women at the Anglican Consultative Council.  IAWN links Anglican women around the world.  It seeks to empower women to participate in decision-making in the councils of the Church, and to meet challenges with courage and hope.

IAWN will have two stalls:

One is in the lobby of the Keynes Residence with stalls from other networks.  This stall was supplied free of charge.

The other stall, stall A5, is in the Marketplace along with 48 others.  We paid for this stall.

IAWN will present 8 Fringe Events:

1. July 22, tea and conversation, with presentations by women leaders, at the Franciscan Centre from noon to 6 pm.

2. July 25, Darwin Conference Suite 3, noon to 5 pm

“Education for Empowerment - to Transform our Tomorrow". 

International Anglican Women's Network is the global voice for women at the Anglican Consultative Council. Drop in and learn how to be part of the women's voice. Lunch served.

3. July 28, 6:30 to 10:00 pm, dinner and conversation, at Woodlands: an English home, Fleets Lane, Tyler Hall, Canterbury

4. to 8. On various days, 5 walking meditations on biblical women of courage: Sarah, Mary Magdalene, Mary, Ruth, Joanna

There are many women and men to thank for the countless hours that have been generously volunteered to make this happen.  In no particular order:

Elizabeth Loweth, organizing the tea on July 22, encouraging Link women to contribute to the computerized display for stall A5.

Kimberly Murphy, for programming the computerized display featuring women leaders from around the world.

Marion Lucas-Jeffries, Anne Walling, Annette Graydon, for researching, writing, designing and producing full colour cards with photo and biography of 50 famous Anglican women.

Margaret Fleck for sharing the workload which Alice Medcof has taken on.

Nancy Fitzgerald, of Morehouse Publishing, and Margaret Rose, Director, TEC USA, for the work-in-progress book of prayers written by women from around the world.  All women at Lambeth will have the opportunity to contribute a prayer.  This is “edition 2” of the highly successful “Uncommon Prayers” published 2 years ago.

Clare Barry, TEC USA, and Bishop Probal Dutta, North India, for preparing materials on how women can become computer literate. One goal of IAWN is to “Narrow the Digital Divide”.

Sr Teresa, Sister of St Andrew, for carrying forward the survey of women’s place in the Anglican Communion.  This vital piece of work needs to be done to further another of IAWN’s goals: Empowerment of Women with Women Sharing in Decision-making in the Anglican Communion.

IAWN wishes to thank the IAWN Chapter of the Canadian Compass Rose Society, the Anglican Church of Canada and The Episcopal Church USA, for funding the IAWN presence at Lambeth.

650 bishops have agreed to come.  There are about 850 bishops.

We continue to pray that differences of opinion will diminish.

SPCK has published a very good book:

“The Anglican Communion and Homosexuality: A resource to enable listening and dialogue”, editor: Philip Groves.

The book has been sent to all bishops.

It is expected to be available in Canada in a few months.
