I'm shocked. This is the worst day ever. Two days ago it was sad to hear about Ed McMahon. Then today i find out Farrah Fawcett is dead. Something i knew was coming. But to hear hours later that Michael had just died... No one could have been prepared for that.

I always knew this moment would come, ever since i was a little girl and knew every choreography from each one of his videos. Could sing every song even though i didn't know more than 3 words of the english language. We were planning to go see him live on his new tour. It's a big part of my life that's missing since today. Never thought it would happen so soon.

I'm deeply saddened.

What the hell... The Interview is EVERYWHERE!

So, i did what i could for the interview to be modified. If you read my previews entry you must know everything about it already.

Only 20% of the interview is what i said, the rest was added. My agent (And i won't say her name but SHAME ON HER!) changed everything on the interview before it was sent to the media. Now the interview has being published on every goddamn newspaper in the country (Dominican Republic of course) and what's done is done. So, considering not much of what's published in the newspaper is true, i'll ignore the whole thing, the phone calls, the letters, the e-mails... Please stop writing if you're going to complain about the matter. If you read the interview you'll notice it none of it are my words. I can prove that i KNOW HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH.

Now that every single person in the whole country who is bored enough to actually pick up the newspaper and read it will see my face in there and read all that, i have nothing better to do than to accept that this whole thing sucks and cancel all the events that i had planned in the country. Including the stand at the Feria del Libro. And the good part about all this is that no one who doesn't know me personally will know the interview is about me, 'cause this people wrote my name wrong, and if anyone who reads it searches for that name, they will never find me. That's great lol. They would only find more than 10 different websites showing the exact same interview that is in the newspapers.

I did learn something about all this, and you can follow my advise: "DO NOT HIRE FAMILY MEMBERS AS YOUR AGENTS! Not even when they are the best agent in the country, even if they don't charge you. They know they can't get fired :S"

Fake Interview Online

I want to warn everyone before you read. There's an interview on the internet soon to be printed in newspapers all around Dominican Republic. Most of what you'll read in that interview aren't my own words. Specially all the publiccity about the president, my parents and all that. That's 3 people i know personally and if i have something to say to them i'll just go tell them. Personally. There's nothing i can do about the matter, except, well, quit my career in the country. So, unless i decide to change my name and start over, i have from today retired from my career in Dominican Republic. I will no longer publish anything there, unless the interview is edited before being printed. I will continue my career in the United States though. I just want to make a few things clear: First of all, my name is "Elisa Féliz", not "Elisa Feliz Castillo", i'm a comic artist, i'm not an storyboard artist or caricature artist. I do not make comics based on graphic novels, it's impossible to adapt a comic into a comic. Duh! And i didn't create most of the titles they say that i created. They don't even exist. Thanks for reading.

By the way, i have some new cool stuff for my clothing line! It will be up as soon as i'm done doing illustrations for my new movie project.

People harassing me on Facebook. How funny.

I know i should have erased my account long ago if i wanted this to stop, but i'm sick of erasing my accounts everywhere because of this envious people who have nothing better to do than bother me. I can't leave facebook 'cause it helps me keep in touch with people who are really hard to find.

I had finally stop getting messages from stalkers for a while (Like those people who want to force me to draw their crappy comic, yeah, you know who you are!), but then today, while i was reading my birthday messages i found a message from this guy called Daniel Henriques (Who's that? You don't know? Exactly!) who claims to be the biggest deal in the art business. wow. how come we never heard of him?! lol.

Here's what he wrote to me:

"i looked at your work and some of your stuff is questionable. you talk about copyright and yet most of the stuff their you did not create? i don't know how you got a away with copyright on some of that stuff but it's highly frowned upon. Especially the digi painting you did, when in fact all you did was put a REALLY faint light color over the original in photoshop.
I'm a concept illustrator for gaming and i know all about copyright and so forth. Also i checked your site, and to say you colab'd with a professional artist isn't right aswell. Unless you got permission from the artist themselves or the company that has the rights to distribute the artwork.
Its sad to see things like this but its hard enough for artists as is. Copyright your own stuff that you created from scratch."

So, this guy is saying that i didn't do those pieces in my gallery, which is funny, 'cause most of what i draw are my own characters and my own creations, or the stuff i do for work. For example, when i'm asked to work as a penciller for a comic, i'm supposed to draw stuff created by other people. And if they're hiring me to do that, it means I HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO IT. Right?

And he doesn't even know how digital paintings are done. I wish i just had to put a faint light color over a photo and have it done, instead of spending many hours in my computer painting it.

And he doesn't seem to know that professional artists do colabs. It's not like i'm the only artist who has ever done a colab with another artist. lol. Many of the professional comic artists i've done collabs with are actually really close friends of mine.

I wrote to him politely explaining that professional artists do collabs too and that i'm not interested in his comments about my work. And i asked him to stop bothering me and then he answered with this:

"Yeah professional artists do collabs, with other professional artists, not random people. and i highly highly dought that you know professional artists such as alex ross whom you inked one of his pencil works.
i dont want to sound mean when i say this but your work isnt up to par with professionals, your artwork is pretty lacking in skill and you use basic fundamentals in creating and coloring. i couldve understood if your work was good but thats not the case. Good try though.
art is art though, and no one is perfect. just create and copyright your own stuff. ive seen many artists fall because of things like this."

Now he's complaining about those pencils by Alex Ross that we had to ink at school as an assignment. Apparently, he thinks you need to have copyrights to sit and ink over someone else's pencils as practice. It's so funny that he thinks that i don;t know any professional artists. Hahaha. Apart from the ones who are my friends, i have many as my teachers. And that seems to bother him a lot. He probably thinks i'm really mad right now and that he ruined my day, but i'm actually really enjoying this. Just to know that another one of those guys is sitting at home suffering so much just because i draw. It's amazing what envy can do.

Then when i wrote to him (politely, i swear) that i don't need to know if he's jealous or whatever, that if he's such a master why doesn't his work even have quality and that i just want him to please stop writing to me, he answered with this:

"JEALOUS!!!! my work doesnt have quality? LMAO. if your a "comic artist" what company do you work for??? what have you worked on that is known to the world and renown. right now im working on concepts for a kingdom hearts story with an artist from rockstar gaming. so dont come to me saying my work has no quality when what i have posted on facebook are sketches and doodles. if you were a professional artist and a real concept artist and had a contract you wouldnt even be able to post your work. you want to see were real professional artists post ther work and were my work is posted. go to www.conceptart.org. thats a real site were real artists showcase ther skills and were crit is key. deviant art is a site created by children for children."

Well, i won't waste my time answering those messages. But if anyone wants to know: I WORK FOR SILENT NEMESIS WORKSHOP! And for other companies that i'm sure, he doesn't know about. As far as i know, the kingdom hearts games are done by Square-Enix (In Japan!), so, why would they want him as a concept artist if they have the great Tetsuya Nomura! >:D
I wonder if he knows how many PROFESSIONAL COMIC ARTISTS have accounts on DA. If a shame if there's really people out there who rates the quality of your work based on what site you're registered in.

And says he's better than me 'cause he does concept art for videogames. Well i do too, and i actually build complete 2d or 3d videogames as well! Now, you search for this "big star" on the internet and you find nothing. Now you search for me, and you find a lot, and i don't even brag about it. I've never even said that my work is amazing, instead i just talk about how hard i work to make it better, 'cause at leas I know my work is not that great and i don't waste my time harassing people who do art 'cause they love to, 'cause that's what we all do.

So, i'm just sharing this with you guys 'cause i though it's EXTREMELY funny. And i want to let you all know, i'm happy with my "crappy artwork" just the way it is, and i'll keep on woking hard to get it to a good level no matter how many jealous people suffer because of it :). There's a few out there who will see my "crappy artwork" and will actually enjoy it. Like my mom, for example. Hell yeah!!! :D
