Pure Talent

Today, we had a talent show at our school! My classmate, Ceara began the show with a dance. Followed by that were about five billion impersonations of Miley Cyrus. Everyone groaned as the announcer kept repeating, "And next- yet another person singing (insert song here) by Miley Cyrus!!" *everyone groans* That was torture having to listen to the same songs over and over again. ;_____; I'm telling you, they probably sang the whole Hannah Montana soundtrack during the talent show! And what's worse, half of them were terrible singers! Dx But that doesn't mean there wasn't any pure talent at our school. There were two guys on electric guitars that sang songs. They were really good! And there was more dancing and flipping and tumbling and awesome what-not being performed on the stage as well! The talent show ended with the best performance of all! My classmates, Brian, Mike, and Zach entered the stage wearing hoodies and baggy pants. The lights dim. The crowd roars. "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" They start doing the Soulja Boy. Everyone starts to laugh and clap and scream and the teachers are smiling. At the end, Mike walks to the end of the stage. He runs- launches himself off of Brian's shoulders, then jumps over their heads! And not a single injury! When they were finished, huge deafening screams spread throughout the auditorium and lasted for about ten minutes. Brian, Mike, and Zach continued to bow while the audience cheered. The principal yelled at everyone to quiet down. I think that was the best talent show ever at our school! =D

New layout! It's a violet, hot pink, and gray layout featuring Vanessa Hudgens! =D I owe alot of credit to SwimChick for the textures and the brushes on my layout. Personally, I like the layout banner, but I don't like the CSS. Dx I also like the navigation that's image-mapped on the banner. I also went a little crazy with the brushes, lol! Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! (especially my mom and my grandma) I'm going to make them some homemade cards for them! What are you doing for Mother's Day? Oh and feel free to take a Mother's Day sign to put on your site! :]

Voting ended today! The results were close but the largest amount of votes go the SweetMemories being a tutorials site!

Sorry I haven't updated in quite awhile, I was pretty busy. ;____; But since I don't have school for the rest of the week, I can update more! Anyway, today in science class we dissected a sheep's brain. It was gross. I can't believe some people actually thought the dissection was "awesome"! The squeamish people in my class (including me) lined up our chairs at the end of the science lab and turned around so we couldn't see our teacher slicing the brain in half. After it was opened, everyone examined the brain and our teacher explained the different parts of it, like the cerebrum and the brain stem. The people at the back of the classroom got to study a fake brain model. ^_______^ It was made out of foam and it was very colorful. And squishy. Then, our teacher passed around the brain. I put on some plastic gloves, held my nose and covered my eyes, poked the brain and passed it to the next person. Lol, I'm such a chicken. xD A couple of girls who watched the dissection were pretty grossed out. They got sick and had to go to the nurse. Dx Now that SweetMemories is a tutorials site, you can all now suggest tutorials! =D Please comment and tell me what kind of tutorials you would like to see.

Today, my best friends Missy from Next Millenium Designs and Tifi from Beloved Hearts came over to my house. We played the Wii, surfed Youtube and hung out at my backyard until Missy had to go home. :'( Tifi, my little sister Roseanne, and I were feeling quite bored after she left so we decided to play outdoor camping. We searched for our smallish-looking tent in the playroom, but we couldn't find any. So, we ran downstairs into the basement. After running around the basement for a while, Tifi stared at this mysterious door all the way at the end of the room. I told them a story I remembered when I was about seven years old, about the time I went inside the door. This got Roseanne and Tifi excited so I dared Tifi to open the door. (Remember, that door hasn't been opened for about five years) We crept in the darkness until we reached the door. Tifi unlocked the door, turned the doorknob, and slowly opened it. An eerie crreeaaaakk sound echoed through the basement. We took one look at the small creepy "tunnel" that lay behind the door, screamed, and ran upstairs. "We have to be brave," We told each other, grabbing our Nintendo DS's (We didn't have any real flashlights) and anything we could find to slap any bugs running around the tunnel. We marched down into the basement and into the creepy room again. The walls were gray with peeling paint and the floor was hard as rock. There were spiderwebs on every corner and darkness spread throughout the room. We took one step in the room feeling, "Hey, this isn't so bad." And then my sister ruined it by screaming, "SPIIIIDERRRR!!" and we shrieked and sped out of the tunnel. My sister tripped over her sweater and we all fell on top of each other, screaming."MY SHOE IS STILL IN THERE!!!" Roseanne shouted. Tifi, the brave one, tiptoed back into the room, grabbed her shoe, and handed it to Roseanne. We calmed down after a while, and laughed at ourselves since we were chickens, but we still had a great time during our little adventure.

Lately, I've been thinking of making SweetMemories a tutorials site. I keep revamping my graphics section because I don't think the graphics I make are "good enough". *sighs unhappily* I also tend to get lazy and I never find time to make graphics anway. xD Also, when I asked people what I should add to my site, I kept getting requests for tutorials! And no one ever uses my graphics, anyway. ;____; If SweetMemories does become a tutorial site, I'll be able to update more and I'll get more time to make content for all of you! The only thing I'll do is take out the graphics. Well, what do you think about the idea? It's up to your decision about what I should do with SweetMemories, so tell me your suggestions!

The Speech Contest

Today was the oratorical contest. A bunch of students in my class and in eighth grade (including me), that were chosen by our teacher, had to recite a three minute speech in front of the whole school! Before the contest started, our teacher raffled off the order we would say our speeches. I was number 3 (Yeessss, I'm not first!) So after the assembly we have every month, I told my dad to please go home because I might mess up if he stays during my speech. xD (Of course I said it in a very polite manner.) So the first two people went up and did their speech and when it was my turn, I very slowly dragged my feet to the door that led to the stage. It was a really heavy door because I pushed it and it wouldn't open. My eyes sort of widened when I heard alot of people giggling at me. I pushed it hard, stumbled inside and wandered up the stairs onto the stage. I gulped when I saw all the people staring blankly at me. I introduced my speech and said a couple of lines of my speech without thinking. I paused in the middle of the speech and paused in fear, thinking, I'm saying this speech in front of the whole school and one mistake will humiliate me. Then I blanked out and my teacher cued me back on to the speech. I recited the lines off the top of my head, until finally, I finished. The audience clapped and I walked down the stairs and pushed open the door. Soon I realized that when my other classmates were going up to the stage to recite their speeches, I realized that the evil stage door refused to open the door for anyone else either! The results were announced later that day and one of my best friends, Aishvarya, won the contest! Everyone was expecting that because it was so obvious that she would've won. After the results, she was showered with a bunch of "I told you so!" 's. Now she has to do another oratorical contest in another school, but it's different because all the other contestants are experts and there are alot more people watching in the audience. For once, I'm glad I didn't win.

Yes, a new layout! Finally! This theme has different shades of red with dark and light colors blended together like the last layout. And of course, it features Ramiele Malubay again. =] I stopped watching American Idol because now I'm bored by it now that Ramiele isn't in the competion anymore... I only watch David Archuleta's performance though! Anyway, this morning at the library, our social studies teacher entered the room. She started smiling and laughing with our grammar teacher and showed the other teacher a ring that was on her finger. Suddenly the students around them gasped and started whispering to each other. Our teacher was going to get married! After lunch, she walked into our classroom and my whole class tackled her and begged to see the ring! She had to leave for the afternoon though, I don't know why, but now the seventh and eighth graders can't wait for the wedding! xD
