Fairly OddBaby]]> http://www.freewebs.com/apesandapples/index.htm?blogentryid=2995221 Okay, so you guys might think I'm some sort of nerd for watching the new FOP movie. I was just curious, though, for its "big" comeback... I'm sure that I don't need to provide huge background information, since all of you SHOULD KNOW THE BASICS OF IT.


Background Information

Butch Hartman, the creator of the show, as announced on 2005 the show would be discontinued -- the movie "The Jerkinators" (now that is ONE GAY SEASON FINALE NAME) would finish up the show. Well, now in 2008, Butch Hartman obviously came back to FOP (Fairly Odd Parents) to suck up more money from kids because his second 'creation' (Danny Phantom) wasn't much of a moolah vacuum.. ahem... failure.



Good Points


  • Slightly better CG The graphics are a little better. The colors are brighter, but this isn't really a big point or anything.
  • Show is continuous The show is continued, even if for more money. Although the start is shaky, hopefully it'll build up into what it was before the discontinuation.




Bad Points


  • New Character Okay... I knew from the start (the commercials) that the movie wasn't going to be a success. They should NOT introduce a new character from the beginning! It just KILLS it and many people will probably be unhappy to almost have "a whole new show".
  • M-Preg WTF?! THEY MADE COSMO PREGNANT?!? I thought in the commercials, when I saw Cosmo's big fat belly, they were joking or something but WTF? I HATE HATE HATE M-PREG. Everytime I go to fanfiction.net and see M-Preg Royed stories I just go, "Ugh. Gross." WTF M-PREG.
  • Mary Sue The baby is hinted to be a Mary Sue. (A Mary Sue is a character that is absolutely perfect, I.E. a mysterious past, great, omfg powers, beautiful-looking, can attract all of the boys.... etc). Well, in this case the baby's a boy, so he's a Gary Stu :P The baby is "so powerful and shit" and every emotion he has he can, uh... "conduct" magic through it and stuff. So totally gay. "OMG! HE SAVED THE DAY!" Yeah, it's destined the new show's going to fail unless Cosma and Wanda abandon the baby and, 100 episodes later, the baby comes back for revenge or something. Lol.
  • Repeated humor Hartman's lucky he used this technique in his earlier shows, or else he would get whooped in this movie. If you've noticed (in both the Old FOP and the New FOP), he used repeated humor. That means he repeats the same jokes over and over again throughout the episode. He does a much better job of doing it in the Old FOP than the New FOP... HOLY SHIT, I think he did a terrible job. It's so obvious he's trying to use that trick in the New FOP:

    - Jorgen Von Strangle eats a spicy burrito and gets diarrhea... A LOT. So throughout in the show, he suddenly hops to the side of the screen, hops back, and says "those burritos really had an effect!" sort of shit... until he has diarrhea SO MUCH he eventually just hops to the side of the screen, comes back, and resumes what he was doing. O___o

    - During Cosmo's pregnancy he gets morning sickness and barfs on Timmy ALL OF THE TIME. This was funny for the first few times, but it just gets too repetitive =__=
  • Shitty plot Seriously, that was the simplest 49 minutes of my life...

    Cosmo and Wanda want a baby but can't get one because... well, the reason is too shitty for me to mention, so Timmy wishes them to have a baby. Being the stupid 10 year old he is, he apparently doesn't KNOW that you have to fucking get pregnant before you get a baby O___o And so he endures the pain of Cosmo barfing on him every two minutes. Then, one day, when he was taking a shower, he got out of the shower and BLAM there was a fairy party. (Mama Cosma: This is a baby shower! Baby *points to Cosmo's belly* shower! *points to shower Timmy just got out of*) Then Timmy was like OMFG WTF GET LOST COSMO then Cosmo disappeared and Jorgen Von Strangle was like OMG TIMMY YOU BASTARD IDIOT, THE WORLD IS IN GREAT CHAOS IF COSMO'S BABY IS RAISED UP TO BE EVIL!!! So they try to find Cosmo, get the Anti-fairies and Pixies to be involved (it's very stupid HOW they did...), and the war is on between the... FOUR (because Jorgen wants the baby to raise him to be good) to keep the baby.
  • The "DUH, Of Course They're Trying to Make the Show Better" factor There are some scenes in which Timmy would NOT do, but Hartman makes the characters do so anyway because it makes the show better.

    - Jorgen in a bunny costume... this is when Timmy says they needed disguises to get the baby back, and obviously it was NOT necessary for Jorgen to be in a bunny costume. Near the end, Timmy was using it as a plan to make the baby happy to use its powers (as mention above...) but you don't need Jorgen in a bunny costume to make the baby happy =__=

    - In the midst of the Anti-fairies and the Pixies attacking Timmy and the others with missiles like the Luftwaffe air force in WWII, twice, TWICE, TWICE Cosmo said, "Ooh! I wonder if the baby is a boy or girl!" Then he was 80% close to finding out the baby's gender. (Stupidly, you could only find out the gender of the baby until the very end.) Timmy TWICE smacked Cosmo's hand and said, "We don't have time for that! Let's go!". OBVIOUSLY that was to increase the suspense so the viewer would know the baby's gender at the end. How hard is it to pull open a blanket, check if the baby has a wang or not, then snap it back in less than a second? GOD, YOU'RE SO OBVIOUS HARTMAN.


    Overall, I give this movie a C-. It's not as good as Channel Chasers (although it's more like, "Let's go chase Vicky to save the world, even though the reason why is totally gay!), but the smaller kids might like it... then in the end, either think "The baby's cool!" or "The baby sucks".

    I want my 49 minutes back!

1) My laptop was slow as HECK. I mean, Firefox opened after.... FIVE MINUTES?!
2) Fucking Stepmania erased my Stepfile... TWICE. WTF?
3) The fucking stepfile was so hard to do, I just had to stop after I only edited six seconds of the song... OUT OF 6 MINUTES.
4) When I went to Tegeki, the fucking draw pad thought to draw even if it's not supposed to! WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCCCKKK.
